Monaco Solar & USB Powered Backup Battery and Charger is a backup battery that can power and charge your cell phone or MP3 player when charging from a power outlet isn't possible. The Monaco Solar packs 1800mAh battery capacity - enough to fully charge almost all cell phones and fully charge some cell phones twice! The backup battery itself can be recharged via an AC power outlet, via a computer USB port or by sunlight, thanks to it's built-in solar panel.
The Monaco Solar includes an AC charger adapter, USB cable (for charging the backup battery) and another USB cable with interchangeable mini USB and micro USB tips for charging devices equipped with a micro USB, mini USB or ExtUSB charging port. The Monaco Solar can also charge your iPhone, iPod or other MP3/media players when used in conjunction with an appropriate USB charging cable (sold separately or use your existing).

Have not uses yet but I charged fully at home with the USB cord it comes with and will come in handy when my phone dies and have no outlet to charge it in. You just plug your phone into the pre-charged device and ready to go. Have no advice if it works as a plain solar charger.

Excellent on trips, with a great ability to charge all my electronics(a cellular, Ipod nano, etc.) in one charge. Even the solar feature works, in sunny weather.

I love this charger. I use it in the car to keep my phone charged when i have the GPS maps on. only thing is that with charging in solar mode it has to have the full sun light hitting it. it wont work with partial sun light on it, but for the price its works for me
