Faceplates for Nextel i265 and i275 are the same and installation is
relatively easy. Most users will be able to perform this
installation. |
|
| 1. |
To begin
you'll need a Torx # 6 screwdriver. A pair of tweezers and a flat
head screwdriver would be helpful as well. |
| 2. | With
the phone turned off, remove the battery cover and the battery. |
| 3. | Remove
the antenna by unscrewing it. Remove the screws as indicated. |
| 4. | Remove
the back housing of the phone by separating it for the front. |
| 5. | From
the front housing of the phone, gently lift out the main circuit board.
Do not separate it from the phone yet. |
| 6. | At the
ribbon cable connector, lift up the trap door which locks the ribbon cable
in place. After you lift the trap door, ribbon cable can be
disconnected from its connector. |
| 7. | This is
what you should have now. |
| 8. | Remove
the LCD screen by release it from its tabs along the two sides of the LCD
screen. We recommend you not touch the back side of the LCD screen. |
| 9. | Remove
the speaker assembly and the microphone by gently prying if off. Be
careful not to damage these parts. |
| 10. | Replace
the speaker assembly on to the new faceplate. |
| 11. | Replace
the LCD screen on to the new faceplate by gently snapping in place.
Make sure the tabs lock in place and that the LCD screen is properly
aligned. Again, please do not touch the back side of the LCD screen. |
| 12. | Replace
the microphone and the keypad on to the new faceplate. |
| 13. | Reconnect
the ribbon cable to the main circuit board by gently sliding it into its
connector. After ribbon cable is properly aligned and inserted,
close the trap door to lock the ribbon cable in place. Be careful
not to damage ribbon cable. |
| 14. | Reattach
back side of the phone to the front side of the phone. |
| 15. | Replace
the screws and the antenna. |
| 16. | Replace
the battery and new battery cover. |
| 17. | Your
faceplate installation is now complete. |
